6 years agoGolden State Warriors small forward Kevin Durant scored 25 points on 8-for-14 shooting from the field, including 3-for-4 from long distance, and 6-for-9 from the free throw line in Monday's victory over the Suns. The 30-year-old chipped in four assists and two rebounds, although he also turned the ball over four times. It was his third straight game of at least 25 points and the 11th consecutive contest with 20 or more points. He has now committed 10 turnovers in his last two games and averaged 3.7 turnovers in December, which is slightly down from 3.8 in November. The 12th-year pro ended up averaging 5.5 points less this month (26.1) than the 31.6 points that he put up in November, however, his shooting percentage was up overall (49.4 percent from 48.7 percent) as was his three-point shooting as he finished the month with 2.3 triples a game at a 40.5 percent clip. Durant struggled a bit the last time the Warriors faced the Rockets, who they meet on Thursday, as he finished with 20 points on 6-for-15 shooting from the field along with five rebounds and two assists.--Daniel Benjamin
