3 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Kevin Gausman was placed on the family medical emergency list prior to Friday's game against the Cardinals. Gausman was scheduled to start the contest, but he will not start because his wife is pregnant and expecting a child. Manager Gabe Kapler said that it is a day-to-day situation. Logan Webb was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to start the game instead. Webb has pitched well this season overall, but approach him with caution in this short-notice start. He's made just one start in the big leagues since May 29, and he went just three innings on July 9.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
