Kirk Cousins Is A High-End QB2 Against Packers
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins has played very well this season, but it hasn't always translated to fantasy success. The Vikings remain a run-oriented team and have blown a lot of teams out, meaning Cousins hasn't needed to throw much in a number of contests. Though Mike Boone is no slouch, the likely absence of Dalvin Cook (shoulder) and Alexander Mattison (ankle) should force the Vikings to turn to Cousins for more offense in Week 16 at home against the Green Bay Packers. The Packers Defense has been middle-of-the-pack against the pass this season, though the secondary and pass-rush seems to have tailed off after a great start to the year. It's also noteworthy that top target Adam Thielen returned in Week 15 and should be on the field for a full complement of snaps in this pivotal matchup. Cousins' increased volume and the game projecting to be close puts him squarely on the high-end QB2 radar, with an outside shot at sneaking into QB1 territory if everything breaks right.
