Kirk Cousins Posts Empty Week 4 Line
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 27-of-36 passes for 233 yards in Sunday's 16-6 loss to the Chicago Bears. He was sacked six times and fumbled twice, losing one in the third quarter on a Khalil Mack strip sack. Cousins missed open receivers on more than a few occasions and appeared to be very bothered by the Bears pass rush, causing him to continually check down to running back Dalvin Cook (eight targets) and fullback C.J. Ham (four targets). Cousins has been a big disappointment so far this season and is barely clinging to his low-end QB2 status despite having a top-tier WR duo in Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs at his disposal. Week 5's matchup against the New York Giants is a soft one, though it's likely that the Vikings lean on Cook with the projected positive game script. Only play Cousins as a low-end QB2 until we see more volume and consistency from the eighth-year veteran.
