Kirk Cousins Solid Option at ADP
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins had the best year of his career in 2018, tallying 4,298 passing yards, a 30/10 TD/INT ratio, and a sparkling 70.1% completion percentage. However, Cousins finished the year as QB13, and there seems to be a consensus that the Vikings will shift to a run-centric approach in 2019 (after finishing 30th with just 93.3 rushing yards/game in 2018). The addition of offensive assistant Gary Kubiak, the re-tooling of the offensive line, and a healthy Dalvin Cook seem to validate the team's desire to run the ball, but there might be some overcorrection coming into play here. Cousins is being drafted at 115th overall (QB17), right after Mitch Trubisky and before Dak Prescott and Jimmy Garoppolo. There is absolutely potential for Cousins to provide a return on investment, as he has one of the top WR-duo's in the NFL at his disposal in addition to an offensive line that should improve on the 40 sacks allowed last year (10th most in the NFL). It also shouldn't be overlooked that Cousins will be looking to prove his doubters wrong in year two of his fully-guaranteed contract after stumbling to an underwhelming 8-7-1 record in his first year. Draft Cousins as a high-end QB2 with occasional spot-starts that push him into the top-10.
