5 years agoDallas Mavericks power forward/center Kristaps Porzingis became the focal point of the team’s offense during Friday’s loss to the Houston Rockets due to the absence of Luka Doncic (ankle), and Porzingis took advantage by setting a new season high with 35 points on 12-for-20 shooting. His aggressiveness also led to new season highs at the free-throw stripe, as he went 10-for-13 and added 12 rebounds and two steals across his 36 minutes. Houston was vastly undersized without Clint Capela (heel) available in the frontcourt, but Porzingis will have another extremely favorable matchup Saturday when he faces a porous Hawks defensive unit.--Jesse Borek
