6 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Kurt Benkert struggled to make an impact in the second preseason game against the Chiefs on Friday. Benkert threw eight passes but only managed three completions for a total of 30 yards. The rookie quarterback also threw an interception, which was returned for a touchdown. Benkert will have been hoping to move closer to Matt Schaub to challenge for the backup spot. However, this performance has likely taken him closer to current fourth choice Garrett Grayson, and possibly ended any chance of the Falcons carrying a third quarterback on their roster.--Ben Rolfe
