Kyle Hendricks To Start First Game After Break
3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Kyle Hendricks will next pitch on Friday at Arizona in the club's first game after the All-Star break, according to MLB.com. Cubs manager David Ross said Adbert Alzolay and Zach Davies will follow in the series. Hendricks improved to 11-4 last outing versus the St. Louis Cardinals, going 6 1/3 innings and allowing two runs. The right-hander started the year on a sour note, but he has been productive ever since the calendar turned to May. He heads into the break with a 3.77 ERA and 1.25 WHIP. Though he's no help in the strikeout department, Hendricks continues to be an underrated and consistent starting pitcher. He will be close to a must-start next week given the plus matchup and his steady form.
