2 years agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Kyle Muller has turned in quality starts in five of his last six outings for Triple-A Gwinnett. In his most recent outing on July 8, he pitched seven innings and allowed six hits, no walks and two earned runs while striking out eight. Across 15 Triple-A starts this year, he has pitched to a 2.95 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP while averaging 11.2 K/9. Most importantly, perhaps, is the fact that he's allowed just 2.6 BB/9. Walks have been an ongoing problem for Muller as he averaged 4.7 BB/9 at Triple-A last year and he has averaged 5.9 BB/9 across 39.1 innings in the majors. The next time the Braves need to bring in another starter, Muller is a top candidate to be called up. In deep leagues he's a solid stash, but you'll likely want to see him perform well in the majors prior to inserting him in your starting lineup. He's struggled to the tune of a 5.49 ERA and a 1.42 WHIP over 10 career MLB appearances (nine starts).--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
