Kyle Rudolph Not Involved In Week 1
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph was very quiet on Sunday, failing to haul in his only target in the 28-12 win. The Vikings held an early lead and featured a run-heavy attack all afternoon, which resulted in Kirk Cousins throwing just 10 times for 98 yards in the game. Though Rudolph played every offensive snap, rookie Irv Smith Jr. was in on 26-of-53 (49%) snaps and looms as a threat to steal looks from the veteran. Rudolph's rest-of-season outlook is looking grim in this run-heavy scheme, and he is an uninspiring touchdown-dependent TE2 until further notice. He's not a recommended option on the road against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
