Kyle Seager Pops 13th Home Run In Loss
6 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager hit his 13th home run of the season in the Mariners 4-3 loss to the Yankees. Seager went deep off Yankees ace Luis Severino and his 2-for-4 performance is his first multi-hit game since June 10. Seager has 31 extra-base hits with 43 runs batted in but has not been a very efficient player. Seager in his career has been a player with a 2-to-1 ratio of strikeouts to walks but those numbers are way off to this point. He has punched out 66 times this season to only 17 walks and has a dismal on-base percentage of .276. The good news is that the veteran slugger has a track record of boosting his performance in the second half of the season and posted a slugging percentage of .508 after the All-Star break in 2017.
