5 years agoSeattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager said Thursday that he tweaked his right hand on Tuesday but hopes to be ready for Seattle's next series against the Houston Astros. Tim Beckham is playing Seager's third base position on Thursday. Seager was out until May 25 this season with an injury to his left hand, so this is not a recurring issue. The 31-year-old is hitting .233/.328/.405 in 30 games this season with five home runs. Seager had not missed a day of action since May 25 until Wednesday, so his playing time appears locked in if healthy, but without a better performance, he'll remain mostly an AL-only and deeper league asset.--Nathaniel Green
