Kyrie Irving Drops 50 In Brooklyn Debut
5 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving made sure that his new hometown fans will remember his first game with the franchise. Despite not making the game-winning bucket in overtime, Irving was masterful, going for 50 points (on 17-for-33 shooting), setting a new club record for a player in their debut with the Nets. In addition to the scoring barrage -- which saw Irving sink seven threes -- he added eight rebounds and seven assists without turning the ball over. If his first contest is any indication, Irving’s production levels could skyrocket in a Brooklyn offense that appears comfortable pushing the pace and leaning on the six-time All-Star as its primary scorer. Expect Irving’s DFS price tag to swell ahead of Friday contest against a Knicks club that may not fair much better in slowing his offensive attack.
