Kyrie Irving Records First Triple-Double Of Season
5 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving overcame a night in which he went 0-for-6 from three-point range to record a 20-point triple-double Saturday versus the Detroit Pistons, his first in 2019-20. The 11 rebounds that he snatched during the performance tied his career high, which he accomplished just one other time, March 16 versus Atlanta while he was a member of the Celtics. Irving also dished out 10 assists for the second consecutive outing. Through his first six games, the Nets’ new standout point man has averaged 23 shots per game, a positive sight for those eyeing Irving on Monday against the Pelicans, who have been reticent to slow opposing guards early on in the season.
