Kyrie Irving Ties For Team High With 17-Point Effort
5 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving shot 8-for-20 from the floor during Thursday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets, aiding him to a 17-point night that tied him for the team lead. He packed the stat sheet with nine assists and six rebounds, without having a turnover for the first time since opening night. His performance marked just the second time this season that Irving scored fewer than 20 points in a game, although he upped his assist average to 7.2 per contest. Denver’s defense and pace has been notoriously tricky for opponents over the past two years, so Irving’s slight scoring dip shouldn’t concern his fantasy owners in the slightest.
