Laquon Treadwell "Showcased" On Sunday Night
5 years agoMinnesota Vikings wide receiver Laquon Treadwell played 27 snaps in Sunday's win over the Seattle Seahawks, a team-high among wide receivers. He performed well, catching 4-of-4 targets for 47 yards while playing most of his snaps with third-string quarterback Kyle Sloter in the second half of the contest. Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, after the game, had this to say: "We were trying to get Treadwell the ball a little bit more in the second half, try to showcase him a little bit, I guess." This is not an admission that's usually made by coaches, but it's very apparent that the Vikings are indeed actively shopping the former 23rd-overall pick after three seasons of failing to make an impact. Look for the Vikings to "showcase" Treadwell even more in the upcoming game against the Arizona Cardinals - that is, unless he's traded or released before Saturday rolls around. Treadwell, as it stands, is not a player to consider in re-draft formats.
