3 years agoThe Cavaliers acquired forward Lauri Markkanen from the Bulls on Friday. The deal also involves the Portland Trail Blazers, and it will move Larry Nance Jr. to Rip City and Derrick Jones Jr. to The Windy City. As part of the agreement, Markkanen, a restricted free agent, will ink a four-year, $67 million contract as a part of a sign-and-trade deal. He will be tasked with fighting for minutes against rookie Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and possibly Kevin Love, who continues to deny his interest in receiving a buyout from the Cavs. The 24-year-old was selected with the No. 7 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and averaged 15.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and shot 36.6 percent from deep throughout his three years in the league. Although he is a semi-risky fantasy option, his value will significantly increase if he stays healthy and receives a consistent role moving forward.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
