6 years agoChicago Bulls power forward Lauri Markkanen played hero Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder, hitting the game-winning runner with 4.9 seconds remaining. Markkanen finished with 24 points in just his third game of the season, giving him back-to-back 20-point outings. It hasn’t taken long for Markkanen to ascend into the starting lineup, as he added seven rebounds, three steals and two assists Friday. How new head coach Jim Boylen handles Markkanen’s minutes Saturday against the Boston Celtics on the second leg of a back-to-back remains to be seen, but owners may want to monitor his status prior to tip.--Jesse Borek
