Leody Taveras Triples on Thursday
4 years agoTexas Rangers center fielder Leody Taveras had two hits, including a triple, during Thursday's 12-9 win against the Cincinnati Reds. He's looking to hold off veteran David Dahl for the starting job in center field. Taveras, 22, is now 7-for-28 (.250) with four extra-base hits and a stolen base this spring. Last season at the MLB level, he hit .227 with a 93 wRC+ in 33 games. He was also a perfect 8-for-8 in stolen-base attempts. Speed is his greatest value to fantasy managers, but he's also shown a willingness to take a walk, so his value increases slightly in on-base leagues.
