4 years agoNew Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball (hip) has been ruled out for Friday's game versus Philadelphia as he continues to battle a right hip flexor. Ball missed seven contests at the conclusion of March/start of April, before returning to start in each of the last three games. Without Ball or Nickeil Alexander-Walker (ankle) in the mix, Isaiah Thomas and Kira Lewis Jr. stand to see elevated PG duties. Averaging career highs in scoring (14.5 PPG) and field-goal percentage (42.4 percent), the final month of the 2020-21 season will likely be pivotal for Ball heading into free agency. His next chance to return to action comes Sunday against the Cavaliers.--Jesse Borek
