3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is absent from the starting lineup for Monday's game against right-hander Chris Flexen and the Seattle Mariners. Raimel Tapia will be covering Gurriel's usual left field post in the game. Gurriel is off to a slow start to the year and he's been especially cold at the plate in May. Over 13 games this month, he's slashing just .130/.184/.174 with two extra-base hits (both doubles). Gurriel has a bit of a history of starting the year off slow and finishing strong. Last year, he posted a 1.084 OPS in September while slugging seven home runs across the month. Fantasy managers should remain patient with the 28-year-old, who will be back in action on Tuesday.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
