2 years agoThe New York Mets placed infielder Luis Guillorme (groin) on the 10-day injured list due to a left groin strain on Monday. He is expected to miss three to four weeks. The 27-year-old suffered the injury during Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies while he was running the bases. Guillorme has been the team's primary third baseman lately. Eduardo Escobar is getting the start at the hot corner on Monday and he is likely to see a significant increase in playing time with Guillorme out. While there had been speculation that the Mets could call up third base prospect Brett Baty to replace Guillorme, manager Buck Showalter put a rest to that speculation on Monday. Showalter said that neither Baty nor fellow prospect Mark Vientos were options to join the team at this time.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
