3 years agoSeattle Mariners catcher Luis Torrens isn't starting on Wednesday. The Mariners will match up with left-hander Kolby Allard and the Texas Rangers but will do so with Torrens on the bench. The 25-year-old is hitting .206 with a .278 on-base percentage and 12 home runs in 237 plate appearances this season. He's been seeing more starts at designated hitter and first base as of late due to Cal Raleigh's promotion. Jake Bauers is starting at designated hitter in place of Torrens and batting ninth against Allard. Bauers is hitting .214 with a .286 on-base percentage, three home runs, and two stolen bases in 253 plate appearances this season.
