3 years agoDallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic (calf) was forced to exit Sunday's regular-season finale vs. San Antonio early due to a strained left calf. The timing of the injury couldn't be worse for Doncic, with Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs set for Saturday against Utah. The 23-year-old is set to undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the issue. Even in the best-case scenario, where Doncic is merely battling a mild strain, his status for that first outing will likely be up in the air. Doncic finishes the regular season firmly in the MVP conversation, having averaged 28.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per outing, all while knocking down a career-best 3.1 triples per outing.
