Luke Kornet Scores First 13 Points Of Season
6 years agoNew York Knicks center Luke Kornet was thrown into emergency action during Friday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets due to the injury suffered by Mitchell Robinson early in the contest. Kornet wound up finishing the game on the floor for New York, scoring his first 13 points of the season after having averaged just 3.3 minutes per game over his first seven contests. He also added six rebounds and three blocks, also making the game-clinching play by thwarting Kemba Walker at the rim in the closing seconds of overtime. Ultimately, Kornet drew as many minutes (24) as starter Enes Kanter. It’s not worth rushing over to the waiver wire just yet, but Kornet did play well when given run at the end of last season, so he may be worth a look in the future with the volatile Knicks rotations.
