5 years agoCharlotte Hornets point/shooting guard Malik Monk dropped 19 points as a reserve during Saturday’s defeat to the Dallas Mavericks, his fourth consecutive game finishing in double figures. Monk’s role off the bench has risen exponentially over his last eight contests, all of which have seen him fire up double-digit shot attempts. He shot 8-for-13 on Saturday, his second straight contest reaching that mark, adding two rebounds and two assists to pad his stat line. With the Hornets clearing out Marvin Williams and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Monk could benefit from the shortened rotations again Monday versus Detroit.--Jesse Borek
