6 years agoCharlotte Hornets shooting guard Malik Monk scored 23 points on Friday in an 88-87 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Summer League. Monk went 9-for-16 from the field and was 4-for-9 from deep. He also added a pair of assists and a pair of steals. After a disappointing rookie season in which Monk averaged 6.7 points in 13.6 minutes per game, Friday's performance is encouraging. Still, he's a second-year player going against a Summer League squad, so take some of this with a grain of salt. Monk could end up as a fantasy sleeper this season, but it's just as likely that he stays behind Jeremy Lamb in Charlotte's rotation.--Justin Carter - RotoBaller
