6 years agoCharlotte Hornets shooting guard Malik Monk tied his career high in scoring with 26 points during Sunday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Monk was instant offense off the bench for Charlotte, knocking down a career-best seven three-pointers, finishing 7-for-11 from deep and 9-for-15 overall. This all comes in the wake of a DNP on Friday with head coach James Borrego benching his second-year wing for the first time all season. Whatever motivation tactic was used, it seems to have hit it’s mark. Monk can score in droves, having two separate four-game streaks of finishing in double figures this season.--Jesse Borek
