Marcus Morris, Dennis Smith Jr. Up In The Air For Sunday
5 years agoNew York Knicks power forward Marcus Morris and point guard Dennis Smith Jr. have both been deemed questionable to play in Sunday’s game versus the Miami Heat. Morris is dealing with a sore neck that has cost him each of the team’s previous three contests, while Smith has missed each of the last eight games with a left oblique strain. In Smith’s absence, Elfrid Payton has taken a stranglehold on the point guard position, although how much Smith’s return would stunt his workload remains to be seen. With Morris sidelined, Bobby Portis has entered the starting five and seen increased looks on offense, a trend that would likely pendulum back if Morris gets the thumbs up before tip-off. Check back to get the final word on both players’ status.
