6 years agoPower forward Markieff Morris was acquired by the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday, but will not stick around long enough to suit up for the club, as he will become a free agent after being released, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic. Morris has been out since Dec. 26 recovering from a neck injury and has averaged 11.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game across 34 contests (15 starts) this season. New Orleans has a crowded frontcourt even without Morris in the mix, with the eight-year veteran now seeking a new club.--Jesse Borek
