6 years agoWashington Wizards power forward/center Markieff Morris (neck) will see a specialist about his neck injury. The 29-year-old had been playing through pain in his neck and back since being elbowed by LeBron James on Dec. 16. He has sat out the previous two games. However, he is optimistic that he won't miss much more time. "I think if it required surgery, they would have told me already," Morris said. "I don't think it's that deep. I hope it's not that deep." With both Morris and Dwight Howard (back) now out, Thomas Bryant will likely continue to see an increase in playing time. Bryant has been fantastic lately, averaging 16.4 points along with 8.4 rebounds while shooting 75 percent from the floor over the last five games. Ian Mahinmi also could see more regular time off the bench.--Daniel Benjamin
