3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers will pitch starter Matt Manning on extended rest for the remainder of the season. Detroit is pitching fellow young starters Casey Mize and Tarik Skubal on extended rest for the remainder of 2021 as well. Manning has shown glimpses of why he was one of baseball's elite pitching prospects but has struggled at times in his first season in the Majors. The 23-year-old has pitched to a 6.33 ERA, a 4.68 FIP, 23 strikeouts, and 13 walks in 42.2 innings. He should probably only be utilized in deeper redraft leagues for the rest of the season.
