6 years agoAtlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan struggled tremendously in the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday. Ryan completed just 21 of his 43 passes and was picked off deep in the Eagles half. The Falcons QB did manage to throw for 251 yards but failed to get the ball into the end zone despite a number of 1st and goal opportunities. Given the Falcons struggles in the red zone last season, it is a major concern that they still could not get the ball into the end zone more than once Thursday. Performances like this emphasize why Ryan consistently ends the season outside the top-12 fantasy QBs. Ryan will be hoping to have more success against the Panthers defense next week.--Ben Rolfe
