6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd pitched a very serviceable game on Thursday afternoon against the Chicago White Sox, throwing six strong innings of six-hit, no-run baseball. Boyd also registered six strikeouts against just one walk, throwing 65 of his 103 pitches for strikes to improve his record to 8-11 for the year. Boyd has enjoyed a resurgent season in 2018, posting career-bests with a 4.09 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 127/42 strikeout-to-walk ratio across 141 innings. Boyd has a good K/9 (8.07) and HR/9 (1.1), so it is conceivable that he can remain fantasy-relevant for the remainder of the year when faced with plus-matchups.--Kyle Ringstad - RotoBaller
