6 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Matthew Boyd outdueled the combination of Lance Lynn and Sonny Gray on Sunday, tossing six innings while allowing five hits and three earned runs as part of an 11-7 Tigers victory. He also struck out six and walked just one, throwing 64 of his 98 pitches for strikes. Two of his three earned runs came via solo homers as Aaron Hicks and Luke Voit took him deep in the 1st and 4th innings, respectively. Boyd's season numbers don't jump off the page, but he's definitely worth streaming when faced with a favorable matchup. He has a 9-12 record, 4.24 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, and 137/46 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 153 innings. Give Boyd a look if you are in a 12+ team or AL-only league.--Kyle Ringstad - RotoBaller
