2 years agoNew York Mets right-hander Max Scherzer had a dominant outing in Game 2 of the Subway Series on Wednesday. He held the team's inner-city rivals, the Yankees, to just five hits, two walks and no runs across seven innings while recording six strikeouts. Unfortunately, he wound up with a no decision in the game. Scherzer has been in vintage form since returning from the injured list at the start of July. He's recorded a quality start in each of his five outings this month, pitching to a 1.39 ERA along the way. His next start is currently scheduled for next Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, but there's a chance he could be bumped up or back a day depending on how the team decides to handle the 2022 debut of fellow ace Jacob deGrom (shoulder).--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
