2 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech (knee), who has been on the 15-day injured list with a left knee strain since leaving his last start early against the Kansas City Royals on Aug. 22 after facing just four hitters, could return to the rotation to start the series finale against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday, Sept. 7, according to acting manager Miguel Cairo. Kopech must first be cleared by head athletic trainer James Kruk and pitching coach Ethan Katz. The 26-year-old threw a bullpen session on Sunday, so as long as he comes out of that fine, he should return to the rotation this week. Kopech will return to a 4-9 record, 3.58 ERA (4.44 FIP), a 1.21 WHIP, 98 strikeouts and 55 walks in 110 2/3 innings over 23 starts this year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
