3 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Michael Kopech said he had COVID-19 in the last week in February, but he feels that he'll be ready for Opening Day and to pitch every five days once the season begins. The White Sox said a few days ago that Kopech is a bit behind the other starting candidate this spring because of an undisclosed illness, and we now know that it was COVID-19. The 25-year-old right-hander also missed all of the 2019 and 2020 seasons and worked primarily out of the bullpen last year, so the White Sox won't be rushing Kopech into a very big workload this year. The fact that Kopech will likely be on a strict pitch count an a per-start basis will severely cap his fantasy upside.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
