Michael Kopech Progresses Ahead Of Start To 2021 Year
4 years agoChicago White Sox right-handed pitcher Michael Kopech has been hailed as one of the game's top pitching prospects for years, but injuries -- most recently Tommy John surgery -- have derailed his progress. Not having pitched in the big leagues since 2018, the White Sox figure to be slow in acclimating Kopech back to the mound, but his talent is undisputed (triple-digits fastball) and makes him a name to watch during the early portion of the year. While he may not begin the season in the rotation, he has pitched out of relief just once in his entire professional career, and at just 24 years old, there's little reason to believe that he can't be stretched out at some point in 2021.
