Miguel Cabrera Exits Early With Back Tightness
2 years agoDetroit Tigers' first baseman Miguel Cabrera (back) exited Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians early with lower-back tightness. The 39-year-old went 0-for-3 before leaving. Eric Haase replaced Cabrera in the eighth inning. He is slashing .294/.340/.399 with three home runs, 18 RBI, and 12 runs across 40 games in 2022. The severity of Cabrera's injury is unknown now; he's considered day-to-day. Haase would see an uptick in playing time while Cabrera is sidelined. The 29-year-old can be left on the waiver wire after slashing .172/.243/.281 across 24 games in 2022.
