Miguel Gonzalez Not Ready to Return From DL When First Eligible
7 years agoChicago White Sox starting pitcher Miguel Gonzalez (shoulder) says he doesn't expect to return from the disabled list when first eligible. Gonzalez is suffering from shoulder inflammation and felt it tense up during his last start. Gonzalez was eligible to return next Tuesday during the White Sox's game against the Cardinals. Gonzalez has been atrocious in 2018, pitching to an 0-3 record and a 12.41 ERA. Missing his start will likely lead to another Chris Volstad or Hector Santiago appearance. However, perhaps the White Sox use this opportunity to see what they have in top prospect Michael Kopech. If there are any rumblings of a potential debut, you'll need to add Kopech immediately.
