2 years agoMike D'Antoni is expected to meet with Hornets owner Michael Jordan to discuss the head coaching vacancy. The 71-year-old, who last served as an advisor for the Pelicans in 2021, was a finalist for the position before Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson verbally agreed to the job. However, after Atkinson withdrew his name from consideration, it appears D'Antoni is now the favorite to take over at the helm. The legendary coach is widely known for his offensive prowess and has historically utilized a "seven seconds or less" approach to scoring, a system that did plenty of favors for Steve Nash and James Harden. It could also mean good things for the production of LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges, assuming the latter remains in Charlotte moving ahead.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller
