6 years agoTexas Rangers starting pitcher Mike Minor makes for an extremely risky fantasy option on Wednesday against Houston. Minor struggled in his first outing, allowing six earned runs on five hits and two walks across 4 2/3 innings against the Chicago Cubs. The Astros offense has struggled out of the gate, ranking 19th in the majors in slugging percentage and 24th in runs scored. However, Minor has limited upside, having a K/9 under 9.0 throughout his career as a starter. The risk that Minor has another poor outing against a strong but slow-starting Astros lineup is too high compared to the potential reward. Therefore, Minor should be avoided in all formats in Wednesday's start.--Ben Rolfe
