4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday with a right thumb strain. The move will be retroactive to June 2, when Yastrzemski slammed his glove hand into the brick outfield wall trying to make a play. Yaz has struggled at the plate this season, slashing just .222/.332/.456, but is a key player on a Giants team that has played very well so far. Additionally, the Giants placed starting pitcher Logan Webb (shoulder) on the 10-day IL with a right shoulder strain. Pitcher Nick Tropeano and utility man Jason Vosler were both called up from Triple-A Sacramento in corresponding moves.--Connelly Doan - RotoBaller
