MRI Confirms Strained Oblique For Cole Hamels
5 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Cole Hamels (oblique) has been diagnosed with a strained left oblique. Hamels left his last start after one inning and the Cubs are hoping to use the All-Star break to re-evaluate the lefty and provide a timeline. Hamels is having a very good season and owns a 2.98 ERA over 99 2/3 innings. Prospect Adbert Alzolay was sent down on Tuesday, but could be a candidate to replace Hamels in the rotation. Veterans Tyler Chatwood and Mike Montgomery are also options for the Cubs. Alzolay would be the only option for fantasy owners to look into.
