3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Mychal Givens earned the win on Tuesday night when he worked a scoreless 11th inning while notching one strikeout in a 3-2 win over the Rangers. The Rockies held a 2-1 advantage until the eighth inning when Carlos Estevez surrendered a solo home run to Khris Davis that evened the score. Daniel Bard pitched in the ninth inning with the score still tied and Tyler Kinley worked the 10th. Givens entered in the top of the 11th inning and did his job as well. He struck out Charlie Culberson and caught Jonah Heim trying to steal third base to notch his first two outs. Givens then got Isiah Kiner-Falefa to ground out to end the inning. The Rockies walked it off in the bottom of the frame so he was credited with the win. He now owns a 3.44 ERA, 1.31 WHIP, and 19:10 K/BB ratio over 18 1/3 innings on the season. There was some speculation earlier this year that Givens would be in line for some saves but so far he's only received one opportunity, which he blew. He can be left on the waiver wire.--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller
