2 years agoThe Washington Nationals selected outfielder Elijah Green out of Florida's IMG Academy with the fifth overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. Standing 6'3" and weighing 225 pounds, he has a great deal of raw power. During his senior year of high school, he hit .462/.592/1.000 while compiling nine homers, 11 doubles and 32 RBI over 25 games. He is also known for his speed and his arm strength, meaning he should be able to cover center field once he reaches the majors.
