5 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz is not in the starting lineup for Friday night's tilt against the Chicago White Sox. Jorge Polanco will bat leadoff at designated hitter and Ehire Adrianza will start at shortstop and hit seventh. Cruz had been on a tear prior to his current seven-game stretch, where he's slashing .233/.361/.300 with no home runs. For the season, Cruz is sitting at .272/.363/.524 with 13 homers, 39 RBI, and 32 runs scored. His advanced metrics are great, with a 53.7% hard-hit rate and 93.4 MPH average exit velocity standing out the most. Cruz is a firm hold in all fantasy formats due to his power profile alone - projection site Steamer still has him hitting 32 home runs this season.
