3 years agoWashington Nationals designated hitter Nelson Cruz (illness) was a late scratch from the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Miami Marlins. He was dealing with flu-like symptoms when he arrived at the park. He spoke with the team's training staff, then wound up leaving the park. He was originally slated to hit out of his usual cleanup spot for the game, but Yadiel Hernandez will be hitting cleanup instead and slotting in as designated hitter.
