Nelson Cruz Smacks Solo Bomb In Comeback Win
5 years agoMinnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz went 1-for-4 with his 17th homer of the year in Friday's 5-3 comeback win over the Cleveland Indians. The bomb came in the first inning off of Indians starter Mike Clevinger with two outs and no one on base. Cruz is slashing .278/.368/.561 with 17 home runs, 47 RBI, and 38 runs scored for the season. More impressively, Cruz ranks second in average exit velocity (94 MPH), fourth in Barrels/PA (12.1%), sixth in hard-hit percentage (52.5%), and 23rd in OPS (.921). Continue to employ Cruz in your starting lineups as he serves as one of the offensive catalysts in (statistically speaking) MLB's top lineup and is a threat to go deep any time he steps to the plate.
